When I was 19 I'm pretty sure I would have wanted to be in a sweet ass band that looks really scruffy but plays really tight, in an original and unpretentious way. Well now I'm too old, and these kids have beaten me to it. I'm 23 soon, so I'm allowed to refer to people as 'kids', especially this band of TEENAGERS named Balkans.
You wouldn't think they were so young though. The songs are are beautifully and cleverly written and the singers voice is really plesant and morish. I wish I had a morish voice. I've seen a few comparisons to The Stokes and The Walkmen, which I get but they also remind me of Be Your Own PET which is maybe why I am partial to them.
